DAY #3 Harrisburg>Gettysburg>Cedar Point

Todays stats 451 miles, time in RV 7.5 hours.  Amount of times Mike raised his voice- at least 4- we needed air in rv tires 80 PSI but when we went to air station it only went up to 70 and then it started sucking air out!! We luckily have a membership so we can go to truck stops for service.  Quotable comments overheard, “From now on I am peeing sitting down like a girl when the rv is moving, my aim is horrible.”  “Brian is putting my phone on his bum- tell him to stop.”  Playing trivia game – SMart Ass, Brendan guessing name of fairy tyle character with 4 words in name- “Little Red Robin Hood!”  Kids have been really good in rv entertaining themselves.  When we were tryng to find campground we told the kids to be quiet for 5 minutes, they ended up only communicating by cell phone text speaking for 30 minutes, the messages they were coming up with on their phones were hysterical. Unfortunately Kerrin has inherited the Last girls horrible singing voice and she loves to belt out the tunes.  I love when we are cruising along and Jake or Brian play a song that gets everyone belting out the tunes.  Mike has finally conceded that he really does need to use his reading glasses since he can’t have the kids hold the maps far enough away while sitting in the front.  He also has a fancy system involving highliters that he checks off every step of the trip tik when co-piloting.  I will say leaving our first camp ground today reminded me a lot of leaving the first home we bought, we learned lots of firsts at the campground on how to run the rv, some through great neighbors and others through experimenting.  Gettsyburg was amazing, the kids learned tons because only Brendan has covered civil war in school.  Our tour guide was very sarcastic and loved picking on Jake and Courtney.  Told us soliders from Mass had the highest desertion rate and also got mostly injured on their butts or backs from running away! Never realized how many soliders died and what a chore it was to get them all buried.  Tonight we are camping on Lake Erie at Cedar Point- we arrived in time for sunset, kids to go night swimming and off to beach to watch fireworks.  Gourmet dinner of spaghettios and salt and vinegar chips.

Day 3 From Jorts (Courtney)

Today was a very adventurous day, we left Harrisburg and went to Gettysburg, of course Kim is a teacher and made us  go to a museum, Connor loved it because it had lots of confederate stuff and  then we saw a movie about the history of gettysburg. Then we picked up this tour guide  in the parking lot, he jumped in the rv with us and his name was Bob and he gave us alot of intresting information about Gettysburg, like if you got hurt you had to worry about wild pigs coming and eating you.   They boys were all hoping to find some bones from dead soldiers because Bob told us a few years ago they found some left over ones. Bob liked to pick on Jake everytime Bob asked Jake a question and he didn’t know it Bob would say “you have 2 more chances and then you go to detention at 7:00pm”  Kim had detention too for not getting answers right. After we dropped Bob back off we drove 7 hours to Ohio, but it went by fast because we played alot of games, watched movies, and blasted music. When we finally got to Ohio the sun was setting so we ran over to the dock and took a bunch of photos and went night swimming. finally we watches some fireworks  that went of over the beach and the rides at Cedar Point, and now we relaxing and geting ready for the big day tommorrow, of course Kim and Mike already made friends with our new neighbors and Mike is having some budlights with them and Kim is talking too much. stay tuned for tomorrow adventure from Brendan.

Day 2 Harrisburg Hanging

Second night in Harrisburg – spent the am getting to know the rv – so thankful for our neighbors Juanita and dale- they have been on the road for 10 months gave us lots of tips. Figured out systems  for setting up and breaking down and assigned each kid jobs.  Then off to Walmart great adventure kids looked like they had never been out of marshfield!  Best part was loading up the cart unloading it right to the shelves in parking lot then sitting and making lunch.  Cool park for a fishing trip water was more like a swamp .

Kids go to campground showers, few minutes later a few of the boys come back and their bathing suits – “mom the shower doors don’t lock people can come and it take pictures and put it on you tube . ”

Todays stats miles drove- 30 – time in rv 1 hour. Times brendan made someone cry -0. Times mike raised his voice – 1 (kids on phones instead of putting away food!) fun fact in Pennsylvania donkeys are not allowed in trolleys.

Day 2 bbccrv from Kerrin

big Americn Flag cowPennsylvania day 2 from Kerrin,

Today was more of a relaxing day but we got stuff done. We had a very late start because we all love how comfortable the beds are that we just couldn’t get up. The first thing we did when we woke up was hook up our ps3 to the tv and the boys gamed all morning. While playing video games our friendly neighbors peeked into the RV and asked if they could take a picture with us so we did. After hanging aroud in the RV for a while we decided that we had to at least do something productive. So we decied to go to Walmart and buy some snacks and 4th of July outfits (Connor, Brendan, and Jake tried to buy big American flag cowboy hats, Dad refused to let them buy it). We spent way more time than anyone else ever would spend in Walmart but oh well its Walmart you can do/wear anything in there! We hung out in the paring lot for a while so we could fix up a tasty lunch and plan for the rest of the day. We found a place to go fishing, I think it was Shrek’s swamp. We spent over an hour there and caught a total of two fish. We needed our cousin Liam there “The pro fisher” to help us out and give us some better luers I don’t think the fish liked ours and since it is not like marshfield with bait shops all over we had to use hot dogs for bait. Not much of a successful fishing trip. So far its been two days and we still like each other a little bit I guess. and no one has fought. Oh and yes we did go for another run today but since we are so out of shape we only ran about 1 mile because we haven’t recovered from yesterdays 3 mile run. Stay tuned to find lut about tomorrows trip to Gettysburg by Jorts (Courtney).

Day 1 Marshfield>Warwick>Harrisburg

Brian pretty much hit it all.

stats for the day miles traveled 423, hours traveled 8. Places we went Warwick RI to say by to the relatives, drove through RI,Ct, Ny and now in Harrisburg.  Number of times mike has to raise his voice -0, number of times Brendan made someone cry 0, number of fights over chargers or seats 0

Notable for the day- kids were amazed at the tapanzee bridge, the rolling farms and the 12 Deers we saw at roadkill. Had baked lasagna thanks to Barbara – used the oven and didn’t blow the camper up. And grateful to neighbor Daryl and wife who have been on the road for 10 months who taught us how to hook everything up.

Also kids realized the joy of seeing the destination city on highway signs and looked forward to the decreasing miles each time we got a little closer .

Day 1 Brian’s Update

Stats for the day, From Brian

Today we left for our first journey and in the RV. Our first stop was to Warwick RI. We were greeted there with a warm welcome from our Grandfather and Aunts and Uncles. We gave them a tour of the RV and they were fascinated, especially My Grandfather. After that we had an awesome lunch at subway. And I had Taco Bell, then we were on the road again. We played many fun games like black jack (I won) and uno. We had lots of sing alongs too. Then we finally made it to Harrisburg Pennsylvania. We got there and got all set up. We were lucky enough to have a nice neighbor to show us the ropes of setting up. When we were doing the sewer drainage it leaked and went all over the nice neighbors hands. After a while of getting all set up we decide to go out for a run. Each and everyone of us ran 3 miles in the scorching heat we thought we were going to have heat stroke especially as presses with our fair skin. When we all went back and took showers to get the stench off. And now we are all in bed getting ready for tomorrow. Oh and I almost forgot the best part. We were pulling into a used car dealership to turn around since we missed a turn and the top of our RV hit the flags and took down a wooden pole and a light. More updates coming tomorrow from the one and only kerrin B. And brendan bouressa wants everyone to follow bbccrv on instagram.

And we are off!! After 25 years of dreaming and 7 months of planning. Mike and I and 6 kids are heading cross country for a month in an rv. My friends named the trip bbcc- bouressa bunch cross country.  Anyone who knows me knows I live for social media so I am hoping to chronicle the trip.  So far the kids were first traumatized when we started planning when they found out no wifi – they we picked up the rv and we learned the tv doesn’t work when driving – a safety feature for the driver and then they started rioting when they found out the plugs in the rv don’t charge devices when driving unless the generator is on. Luckily I bought lots of board games so the kids won’t be bored – hopefully they don’t kill each other – stay tuned .
